Our client is seeking an experienced environmental practitioner, leader, and project/client manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead an established team in a strong market.
The Position:
The appointed Environmental Department Manager will be responsible for working on a diverse set of projects including:
- Environmental site assessments (Phase I/II ESAs/LSIs)
- Comprehensive site characterization and risk assessments
- Remedial design, installation, and O&M
- Environmental planning (natural and cultural resources)
- Asbestos & industrial hygiene (IH) projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and management of an environmental department consisting of 10-12 team members.
- Assume senior project/client management for $1.5M+ portfolio of due diligence and site characterization workload.
- Develop and execute on business development strategies to build work pipeline for the environmental team.
- Work proactively for successful and timely project delivery
- Provide environmental support to multiple services lines including industrial hygiene, geotechnical services, construction and building materials.
- Understand technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test and collect data and document site activities.
- Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection, mentoring and supervising a staff of environmental professionals.
- Demonstrate a commitment to Injury and Incident Free (IIF) operations, including rules, practices, guidelines, and standards for all projects.
- Understand and follow project quality and corporate quality standards for all projects.
The Candidate:
Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:
- A minimum BS/BA degree in a technical discipline (engineering, geology, environmental science etc)
- At least ten years’ relevant professional experience
- Professional engineering (PE) registration in Indiana (and, ideally, Certified Industrial Hygienist registration)
- A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
- The ability to make recommendations for conceptual designs based on technical data.
- A strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- The ability to develop written proposals to clients for both small and large projects.
- Experience of evaluating and synthesizing complex laboratory and field data to form written reports.
