A leading mining company is seeking an experienced expatriate Subject Matter Expert to join its team for large-scale mine engineering projects.
The Opportunity:
Based in Casablanca during the engineering phase, with site rotations during construction (sites near cities) and annual vacation policy of 23 days:
- Designing and developing mine extraction and beneficiation processes.
- Participating in extraction and processing operations for valuable minerals.
- Collaborating with geology teams to optimize resource extraction, balancing efficiency, cost, safety, and environmental impact.
- Planning and supervising the development of underground and open-pit phosphate mines.
- Conducting geological and geotechnical assessments to evaluate project feasibility.
- Utilizing advanced digital mining tools and mine planning software.
- Applying knowledge of geo-metallurgy and mining methods to facilitate efficient extraction.
- Ensuring adherence to EPCM/PMC contract standards and project timelines.
- Preparing project budgets and schedules to deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Contributing to bankable feasibility studies (NI 43-101 and/or JORC compliance preferred).
- Promoting green mining practices and EV mining technology.
Requirements:
- A minimum degree qualification from a recognized mining engineering program.
- (Ideally) experience in phosphate, coal, potash, copper, or iron mining specifically.
- A strong understanding of mining methods, equipment, and technologies.
- Expertise in geological, geotechnical, and environmental considerations.
- Familiarity with green mining practices and latest digital mining innovations.
- Experience with bankable feasibility studies and compliance standards like NI 43-101 or JORC is an advantage.
