We are currently working with a leading supplier of complex full-turnkey technology who are looking to further expand its share of the US aerospace and defense sectors.
The Position:
The appointed Senior Business Development Manager will focus on developing new relationships with strategic customers across the industry, with key responsibilities to include:
- Identifying new business opportunities within the aerospace and defense industry to grow the company’s presence in this market within the US.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for key accounts, aiming to identify white spaces and grow market share.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support program operations and drive operational performance.
- Keeping up to date with all industry regulations and ensuring compliance across all engagements.
- Managing and developing a team of three junior Business Development Executives to facilitate further growth within the business segment.
The Candidate:
Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:
- A minimum of eight years’ experience in the sales of enterprise hardware/software solutions
- At least three years’ exposure to aerospace, defense, government and/or aviation markets
- Some prior leadership / people management experience
- Proven success in managing and growing large enterprise accounts.
- Knowledge of handling government contracts, navigating federal procurement, and collaborating with operational leaders in the airline industry is highly desirable
- Strong consultative sales skills, with a focus on addressing complex challenges in the aerospace, defense, and airline sectors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal government contracting and compliance.
- Expertise in service parts management, MRO, and supply chain requirements specific to these industries.
- Proficiency in CRM tools for effective pipeline management and accurate forecasting.
