A world-class international MEP engineering firm is currently looking to appoint a proven General Manager / Managing Director for its recently established and rapidly expanding Dallas office, with a strong focus on leading the branch’s business development initiatives. 

The Position:

The successful applicant will assume responsibility for:

  • Managing the Dallas office’s staff of designers and engineers to meet project and expansion goals
  • Hiring, onboarding, training and mentoring of additional staff as growth objectives are met and further expansion facilitated
  • Spearheading branch business development initiatives to expand the firm’s presence, client base, market share and brand recognition in the Dallas area
  • Collaborating with the leadership of other regional offices.
  • Overseeing MEP system design, including specifications, calculations, and equipment selection for building types like offices, laboratories, hotels, schools, and healthcare facilities.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure quality, compliant, timely and on-budget project delivery.
  • Representing the company professionally, developing client relationships, and promoting other group business and their services.
  • Contributing to company policies and culture as part of the leadership team.

The Candidate:

This is an outstanding opportunity for a PE-qualified individual with proven business development experience to fast forward his or her career progression in a management capacity.  Given its supervisory element, the role would of course benefit from prior leadership experience, but this is by no means a prerequisite.  More important will be the ability to demonstrate the following requirements:

  • First class business development / sales / prospecting / closing abilities
  • Substantial prior exposure to the MEP sector
  • Strong knowledge of REVIT / AutoCAD
  • Texas PE license (strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent decision making and critical thinking skills.
