Crypto Investigator

A Global leader in blockchain transaction monitoring, our client is seeking a talented and motivated crypto investigator to join their team of experts dedicated to combating financial crime and illicit activities within the cryptocurrency space.

The Position:

The appointed Crypto Investigator will assume responsibility for:

• Investigating complex cases involving phishing, blockchain exploits, hacks, terrorism finance, ATOs, money laundering, sim swaps, ransomware alongside other activities associated with the illicit use of blockchain technology
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to generate actional intelligence reports that support clients’ compliance efforts and law enforcement investigations
• Conducting long-term research on key categories of crime on the blockchain, turning this into valuable intelligence
• Analyse and interpret large datasets to uncover hidden platforms, relationships and anomalies within the crypto landscape
• Proactively identify, build and manage relationships with industry partners to add new sources of attribution
• Collaborating with external stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies, in order to support ongoing investigations and information sharing

The Candidate:

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

• Prior experience analysing cybercrime within a U.S. federal agency
• 3-5 years’ experience as an investigator or analyst within the public sector
• Experience in conducting financial investigations within the cryptocurrency or financial industry
• Solid understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies and the mechanics of various blockchain networks
• High proficiency in using blockchain analytics tools and platforms for transaction analysis
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to decipher complex data and identify relevant insights
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to convey findings and recommendations effectively
• U.S Citizen
