The appointed Corporate Finance Director will oversee all aspects of client engagement, from initial consultation and deal execution through to project management, also developing new business and relationships within the local market.

Our client are corporate finance experts whose areas of expertise include selling a business, buying a business and business funding.  Serving UK SME clients operating across multiple industries, the firm has particular involvement in automotive, energy, food & beverages, financial & professional services, healthcare, leisure, manufacturing, property & construction, TMT and retail.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work closely with clients to foster relationships and provide trusted commercial and professional advice
  • Project manage a range of time-critical assignments from start through to completion
  • Take a lead on all deal execution, client management, and negotiations, providing advice and delegating work
  • Take a proactive approach to seeking new business development opportunities
  • Help to identify and progress opportunities with new/existing clients

Our client is looking to hear from individuals with the background and ability to demonstrate:

  • A minimum bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field
  • Professional qualification ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) essential
  • Strong experience of advising clients on both buy and sell side M&A work and debt / equity fundraising
  • Experience of leading / managing numerous projects to a successful conclusion
  • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with technical competence to deliver M&A and fundraising lead advisory services
  • Corporate finance knowledge and experience, gained in practice
  • Experience of valuations in the context of M&A transactions
  • Strong good business, analytical report writing and financial analysis skillset
  • Good working knowledge of common tax issues arising on the sale of owner managed businesses
  • A strong network of contacts and connections across the Northwest of the UK
  • Ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business and relationships
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional client service
