Project Director (Expat)

Our client is looking to appoint an exceptional Expat Project Director to lead and deliver a groundbreaking joint venture in the phosphates mining sector in Morocco.

The Position:

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and oversee the success of a large-scale mining project in collaboration with a Tier 1 engineering company and a global leader in mining.  As Project Director, you will manage complex project delivery, ensuring the highest standards of efficiency, innovation, and sustainability.

• Oversee and drive the successful execution of a major mining project, managing scope, cost, schedule, and quality to exceed client expectations.
• Build and foster collaboration between joint venture stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective communication across all phases of the project.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, promoting a high-performance culture with a focus on safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Implement and manage cutting-edge project delivery frameworks, ensuring adherence to world-class EPCM and Tier 1 mining standards.
• Navigate complex logistical, regulatory, and environmental challenges, providing solutions that support project timelines and objectives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for executive leadership, delivering updates on progress, challenges, and milestones.

Requirements:

Our client is looking for an individual who embodies the agility and innovative mindset seen in top-tier mining projects, while demonstrating the ability to lead transformative initiatives in a dynamic, global environment, and ability to demonstrate:

• A proven track-record of leading large-scale mining projects, preferably within a Tier 1 EPCM firm or top-tier mining company.
• Strong expertise in project delivery methodologies, with a focus on implementing innovative solutions to drive efficiency and performance.
• Experience of working on complex joint venture projects, ideally within the mining or resource sectors.
• Deep understanding of global standards for safety, sustainability, and environmental compliance in mining operations.
• Outstanding leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire and align diverse teams.
• A background in delivering projects in international contexts, with cultural awareness and adaptability.
• Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English (proficiency in French or Arabic desirable)
