Project Geologist

This is an independent contractor position that will initially be focused on a fantastic orogenic and intrusion-related gold and VMS project in Northern Quebec, before moving on to other projects across Canada and Alaska.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Managing three to four drill rigs
• Data analysis and target generation
• Oversight of core logging and mentoring the logging geologist
• Assisting with drill line ups and end-of-hole procedures
• Ensuring overall productions in the core shack and on the drill are adequate.
• Monitoring quality assurance/control
• Daily reporting of drilling activities

Skills and qualifications required:

• Three to five years’ experience as a project geologist
• The capacity to work both independently and in collaboration with others.
• Experienced in core logging on projects in metamorphic terranes.
• Proficiency in technical report writing and communications.
• Strong background with Leapfrog
• Proficiency in GIS and 3D software programs such as ArcGIS, Target, Geoscience Analyst
• A strong commitment to safety culture
• (Ideally) OGQ registration and P.Geo (though not essential)
• (Ideally) bilingual communication skills (English and French)
